INAUGRATION OF OUR ENGINEERING WORKSHOP
On 29th November 2002, the revamped workshop, the center of all Engineering activity, was inaugurated by Mrs. Nalini Raj, mother of Mr. K. Aravindan, Engineering Services Manager, CCT. The inauguration was attended by Capt. Jimmy Sarbh, Capt. Nikhil Naik and all the Directors of CCT.
 
Extended over an area of 47x46 sq. mts., the workshop is the biggest of its kind in P & O Ports the world over. The facilities include ITV pits and oil separator tanks for all mobiles including Reach Stackers and container and non-container handling equipments. Among other facilities planned for the workshop, are a state-of-the-art laboratory for testing and simulation of electrical controls and a library for technical manuals. The workshop is also environmentally very friendly (except the iron-ore from the neighboring berth!)
